Michelle Gilchrist F.C.A BSc (Hons)

Principle at Gilchrist & Co Chartered Accountants.

A Mathematics graduate from the University of Ulster at Jordanstown, Michelle is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a founding partner of the practice. She has developed a considerable expertise in many aspects of accounting for professionals and small business over 22 years working in both practice and Industry, and has achieved the prestigious FCA accreditation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants .

Having gained a reputation for exceeding the expectations of both clients and employers while working in key positions with some of Northern Ireland’s most reputable accountancy firms such as KPMG and McClure Watters, Michelle went on to specialise in accounts and tax services for professionals working in the legal, IT and medical sectors.

Michelle advises clients on all aspects of taxation and accounting within the practice.

Martin is a founding member of Gilchrist & Co Ltd – Chartered Accountants, which is Chartered Accountancy practice registered with and regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. Gilchrist & Co Accountants specialises in providing services, support and advice to Start-up companies, creative enterprises, non profit and charitable organisatons and professionals in independent practice. Martin has more than 28 years business experience.

Martin has a keen interest in and is passionate about supporting innovation and enterprise in Business Start-ups and SMEs and to this end has worked with the Business in the Community organisation as a mentor and was elected to the steering committee of Digital Circle, holding the Funding and Finance seat for a one year term. Martin was also a founding member of the Social Media Association for Business and is on the management teams of a number of early stage start-up companies.

Having been asked to join the Board of Down Business Park, Martin was delighted to have been elected to the position of Chairman of the Board of Governors and used his time in that role to further his work in supporting enterprise and innovation in micro enterprises in Down District.
